Friends birthday night away

Such a busy few months, so the beginning of the year is going to be less mental!

NYC | Travel Blog

I never thought my little legs could carry me so far, the endless walking around New York is pretty knackering.

I spent a whole week wandering the streets of New York City, celebrating my sisters 21st birthday.

This was my first time in NYC and I have completed the list of attractions!

DAY ONE

Stopped off at a little café before heading out to explore. This grilled cheese was amazing!

Hopped on a bus tour, to see some sites. The weather was absolutely scorching!

We jumped off the bus and headed for the Highline. An elevated old rail road, now turned into a garden. The Highline is approximately 3.5km.

DAY TWO

“Happy 21st Birthday!”

We had a relaxing day on my sisters 21st and headed to a roof top bar for some cocktails. Beautiful view of the Empire State whilst in the sun.

DAY THREE

We headed out early to visit the Beautiful Grand Central Station. I have never seen anything quite like it before! So much detail and beauty.

We hopped on the bus to visit the Metropolitan Museum and Central Park. We later visited the Natural History Museum before heading back to our hotel for a few hours.

In the evening we attended a baseball game, a one in a lifetime experience! We absolutely loved it.

DAY FOUR

Roosevelt Island. It was very interesting to go over to the island. They had an old Mental Asylum, an overgrown small pox hospital and their own little town. The only way you can get on and off the island is the cable car or boat.

Later that evening, back in Manhattan, we headed to the Rockerfeller Centre to take a view of the city skyline.

Stunning!

DAY FIVE

We took a boat out to see the Statue Of Liberty. Unfortunately we couldn’t get off but the view was still so amazing!

In the afternoon we took the bus back round the city, towards the 9/11 memorial.

I’d highly recommend visiting the area of 9/11, you really don’t understand how big of an area it has affected. We walked around the block and learnt so much from a man who polishes the fight fighter tribute daily.

We will never forget all the men women and babies who lost their lives on that day.

DAY SIX

My sister booked a random treat called ‘Crystal Methadonuts’ if you know breaking bad you’ll understand!

We visited the Friends Apartment and then walked back on ourselves before taking a yellow cab over to Brooklyn, because who goes to NYC without taking a cab ride!

DUMBO – Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass

Later that evening I had booked a night out for us at the theatre, you just cannot go to Broadway if you’re in New York!

Anastasia is my favourite Disney film of all time and there’s nothing better than being able to see something that will not be in the UK for many years!

DAY SEVEN

Total chill day, $1 pizzas for lunch and then headed to the Airport to go home.

We had an amazing time! Have you ever been to NYC?!

Thanks for reading guys,

American Afternoon Tea

Recently I went to a local restaurant for afternoon tea with my friend. We were celebrating her 21st birthday so we thought we’d go for something a bit diffefent.

The Afternoon Tea included:

  • Dirty Fries
  • Mini Bbq Ribs
  • Fried Chicken
  • Cajun Corn on the Cob
  • Milkshake
  • Donuts
  • Waffles
  • Prosecco

This was £29.95 for the two of us. I was definitely stuffed, far too much meat for me to eat in one go.

I left the fries – thought it would be bacon and cheese, instead it was pulled pork and cheese. Pulled pork is a no go for me!

Im not one for eating off the bone, but the ribs were perfect! The meat just fell off the bone.

I had such a lovely saturday afternoon with my friend. She definitely had a great birthday!

Thanks for reading guys! Hope you’re all having a great bank holiday weekend so far!

Happy 21st Birthday

Birthday planning for me can take an awful long time to pull together so I started off 6 months in advance for my other halves 21st birthday.

I started off with planning what to buy as a special gift. One that he would keep and treasure for a long long time.

The watch I bought him is Hugo Boss and is the trendiest watch I’ve ever laid eyes on. He’s always wanted a watch and I couldn’t think of a more perfect 21St gift.

I also bought him a watch stand so he keeps it away from being damaged. I found the stand on a personalised website, you can probably find one easily enough.

We went out for his birthday meal to a lovely curry restaurant with his family. Jay absolutely hates public arrays and was so embarrassed when they sang happy birthday to him.

After the meal we went back to his mums so he could cut the cake I made him. He demanded there would be donuts on it!

The cake had 6 layers with a Chocolate Fudge filling. I added gold ’21’ sparklers when I got to his mums.

I booked a surprise stay at the hilton in Manchester for us for a night and I also booked a surprise meal while we were in Manchester to make it extra special. I booked the table for us at the rosso restaurant.

I can’t go anywhere without having a pornstar martini!

We both had a lasagne for our main and shared a sorbet for dessert. The food here is absolutely gorgeous! All fresh and the waiters are very polite and attentive.

I would highly recommend the rosso restaurant to anyone who hasn’t been.

When we came back home I set up some coffee and cake for the afternoon so my auntie and nan could give Jay his presents.

About a week later jay’s birthday continued as we went out for another meal as a present off my auntie. We went for Mexican food at chiquitos.

This starter was amazing! Spicy chicken parcels.

Obviously Jay had garlic bread! I even tried jalapeño poppers which weren’t even spicy/hot like at all! They were cream cheese stuffed jalapeños and coated in bread crumbs.

TACO’S. Love them, just hate the onion part but I did eat them on it until the last two as they were cold. Yes, I can be fussy with food haha

So after all the birthday celebrations, we’ve been waiting for his last present for the past month. I’ve booked for us to go Amsterdam!! Only a few days to go.
Sorry for the very late post on this one guys! I’ve been exhaustingly busy again, I’ll be glad to get this break!
