STEPS

Saturday 18th November

I had such a lovely girly time in Liverpool on Saturday. We met up and checked out a few shops before heading for some cocktails and food.

We had a nosey at some of the Christmas markets and enjoyed a glass of prosecco.

It was very busy so we booked a table at Zizzi for a meal before the concert.

I had a meatball and pasta dish with 2 christmas cocktails: both a passontini.

We then danced our socks off to the Vengaboys and Steps. I tried to remember all the dance moves even though they started when I was 3 years old!

Such a good night!

Did any of you go and see Steps too?

Thanks for reading this short post!

MEXICO – Our 5 Year Anniversary

Mexico has always been on my list of places to go for many years now, not cancun party central but Mexico in general. We’ve had our holiday booked since April so we had a long time to wait before we flew. Flying with Thomson is always the best experience as the cabin crew are always so lovely and attentive. The flight was roughly 11.5 hours to Puerto Vallarta. There are 2 meals on board the flight (average) and lots of films to watch too. We were welcomed at our hotel with a tequila shot and a cocktail to start our holiday the way Mexicans do! We headed out on our first night to have a look around and have our tea. It was very hot around 32 degrees. Our first day we headed out to the pool where the entertainment team were doing activities. We had dips in the pool and chilled by the pool bar most of the day. Jay and I were really shocked to see lizards all over the resort. Mostly large ones and also a baby one. Some were bright green. Jay spent an hour of the day playing water volleyball whilst I sunbathed. Later on in the evening we went out for tea and had a wander on the beach. This was the most perfect sunset we got during our stay. As it is hurricane season we would get some rain in the evening which would block the sunsets. It would be scorching hot the day after.

We received a fruit plate as a gift on one of the days which was lovely of the hotel. Unfortunately, the food didn’t agree with me while we were away so we stayed out of the heat for a day and close to a toilet. There was a bar in the lobby and one of the restaurants wasn’t too far. Due to where we were, in a bay, we had mountains and forests around us which caused a lot of the clouds. However, someone told us that they got burnt one day even from using factor 50 suncream! At breakfast time there was a wide range of options to have. Most days we would both have fried eggs, a toastie, potato chunks and bacon. Sometimes we would choose a sweeter option like fresh pancakes and donuts. The best thing was how the food was all freshly cooked as you were walking around. It’s always ideal to try the cuisine of wherever you are. For me, eating chilli nachos was great! I did try other things which I can’t pronounce, which were okay, just not to my liking. We took some strolls along the beach in the morning most days. Caught a crab scurrying along on the beach to hide under the jet ski. We spent half the day on the beach and half by the pool. Loved my outfit on this night! There was some really bad thunderstorms in the evening so we avoided watching any shows getting drenched. We chilled out in our room with some drinks and played some games of cards. Chocolate fondue!! We walked around our hotel, as I wanted to try and get a good picture of the hotel from higher up. Everywhere was soaking wet due to the thunderstorm so we had to be careful not to fall over. Every night there was a theme for the performances and the food. Themed drinks and the entertainment dressing up. Mexican night! And to top our holiday off we got engaged! We both couldn’t be any more happier and it most certainly made our relaxing holiday an unforgettable one! I hope you enjoyed our holiday highlights! I wonder what our next adventure will be? Curry and Cocktails

So I’ve had writers block since my last post although I have a secret hidden, I cannot reveal it at this time. (I’m not pregnant though)

I have been going out for lunch and tea quite a lot recently, so this post, be warned, it’s a foodie post.

I had a nice day out with my mum at a few garden centres and we had lunch out very late in the day.

We stopped off at Minshulls in Crewe for some lunch.

I had ‘the works’ breakfast and my mum had cheese and pepper quiche with chips. It doesn’t look satisfying on the plate, but I tried a bit and it was gorgeous!

Look at the size of that doorstop toast!

Last Sunday, I had a lazy day and then washed my car with Jay. He soaked me, so we went to Costa for a Hot Chocolate to warm up. The weather wasn’t too good either.

On Thursday night, I went out for tea with a work collegue. We had a curry and some cocktails. I had a Chicken tikka as usual. So yummy! But I SO needed that curry!

I’ve been baking a couple of big cakes these past two weeks. So I will share those with you. The owl was for my old friend and the Lemon Meringue for my work colleagues.

Tea with a Friend

Hey Everyone!
Hope you’re having a lovely evening.

On Thursday i went out for tea with a very old friend of mine. I have known her since we were 3/4 years old.

We decided to have a major catch up as we haven’t seen each other for about 6 years now! Literally 6 years to date since we left school. Crazy!

I met her at my new local restaurant Wildwood for some tea and cocktails. We had both never been to this restaurant before so I wanted to see what it was like, especially with 30% off!

Of course the first thing I did was get a cocktail! Sex on the beach.

We decided to share a starter as I was being a piggy! Mozzarella garlic bread with caramelised onions. Lovely!

I was deciding what to eat ALL day! Literally. So I was adamant I was having Chicken with Gorgonzola Sauce and Gratinated potatoes.

I chose that, but, no potatoes. I really wanted something different as I hate having chips, I’m not a chip lover.

When it arrived I was disappointed. The Chicken was fried. I would never think anywhere would sell fried chicken in a restaurant unless specified, so I was totally gutted!

The chicken was crisp and full of oil. The Gorgonzola sauce wasn’t very flavoured, nor much of it. Too much rocket leaves and a tiny pot of chips.

I hate writing negative comments about food but this really was disappointing. I may go back and try something else sometime.

Anyway, I had a great catch up!

A weekend in Amsterdam..

I’ve being planning to go to Amsterdam for almost 4 years now. So when Jay was 21 I decided to book it for us!

I’m usually one for luxury week holidays abroad, but Amsterdam has always takes my fancy, especially in spring! I just love the tulips.

Day One

We were a little delayed with flying, but managed to check in and unpack before heading out. We arrived early afternoon so we had plenty of time to explore and have something to eat. Not forgetting the drinks.

Our stay didn’t include breakfast so we went to a shop to get some juice to have when we woke up.

We wandered around to get our bearings and then got an early night ready for the next day.

Day Two

Up and our early on our second day to visit the famous Anne Frank House. We were about 15 minutes walk away from practically everything! It’s nice to have attractions apart but also yet so close together.

We had our early lunch at a small café. Jennifer’s café if I remember correctly. We had toasties and chips to share.

I booked our tickets for Anne Frank’s online as there can be queues up to 4 hours long. I really didn’t want to miss this opportunity and it’s one of the main reasons you come to Amsterdam.

The weather on this day was slightly rainy. I was so glad to get inside and the wind picked up a lot while we waited and queued. Photography is also prohibited inside.

I’d definitely recommend going to those who haven’t as it’s a very moving experience. It’s amazing the facts you learn inside.

We ended the experience with a drink in the café and talked about what we had seen. Yes, we didn’t talk to each other all the way round it! It ruins the atmosphere. I bought a souvenir from the shop to take back home with me, which was a postcard.
We walked up the main street, full of coffee shops for a few drinks and a smoke. I cannot resist a cocktail!

Later on we had some tea, pizza. Strolled back to our hotel and freshened up. We then went on a walk around at night.

Day Three

On Day Three we had a lie in and then headed to the Ice Bar. We stopped off at a café around the corner from it.

Again, I bought the tickets online as it’s much easier. You get 3 drinks included in the package and 20 mins inside the ice bar.

We then went inside the ice bar. They give you gloves and a jacket to wear, incase people don’t bring them.

I chose the ‘nutella’ shots and Jay obviously had the beers.

The ice bar definitely was a good experience. We had so much fun! You have to or you freeze to death haha.

After the ice bar, we explored more and headed towards the Van Gosh museum. There’s a few museum around here all of which are very busy!

We got to the ‘ I Amsterdam’ sign. Packed don’t of course so we tried to take the best pictures we could.

Vondelpark is 15 mins walk from here so we headed there on our way back to our hotel.

We had tea at the hard rock café. And headed back to our hotel for an early night.

Day Four

Home time. Check out was at 11am so we headed out for that time to grab a bite to eat for breakfast. Chocolate crossaints.

Our flight was at 5 so we got to the train station at 1pm to give us enough time.

If you plan to buy tickets to get to the airport, the outside machines only take coins! Slightly annoying!

Here is a few of my snaps from just wandering around dam!

I certainly loved Amsterdam!

Have you ever been? What was your favourite part?

Hope you all enjoyed reading my post! Let me know what you think below…

Happy 21st Birthday

Birthday planning for me can take an awful long time to pull together so I started off 6 months in advance for my other halves 21st birthday.

I started off with planning what to buy as a special gift. One that he would keep and treasure for a long long time.

The watch I bought him is Hugo Boss and is the trendiest watch I’ve ever laid eyes on. He’s always wanted a watch and I couldn’t think of a more perfect 21St gift.

I also bought him a watch stand so he keeps it away from being damaged. I found the stand on a personalised website, you can probably find one easily enough.

We went out for his birthday meal to a lovely curry restaurant with his family. Jay absolutely hates public arrays and was so embarrassed when they sang happy birthday to him.

After the meal we went back to his mums so he could cut the cake I made him. He demanded there would be donuts on it!

The cake had 6 layers with a Chocolate Fudge filling. I added gold ’21’ sparklers when I got to his mums.

I booked a surprise stay at the hilton in Manchester for us for a night and I also booked a surprise meal while we were in Manchester to make it extra special. I booked the table for us at the rosso restaurant.

I can’t go anywhere without having a pornstar martini!

We both had a lasagne for our main and shared a sorbet for dessert. The food here is absolutely gorgeous! All fresh and the waiters are very polite and attentive.

I would highly recommend the rosso restaurant to anyone who hasn’t been.

When we came back home I set up some coffee and cake for the afternoon so my auntie and nan could give Jay his presents.

About a week later jay’s birthday continued as we went out for another meal as a present off my auntie. We went for Mexican food at chiquitos.

This starter was amazing! Spicy chicken parcels.

Obviously Jay had garlic bread! I even tried jalapeño poppers which weren’t even spicy/hot like at all! They were cream cheese stuffed jalapeños and coated in bread crumbs.

TACO’S. Love them, just hate the onion part but I did eat them on it until the last two as they were cold. Yes, I can be fussy with food haha

So after all the birthday celebrations, we’ve been waiting for his last present for the past month. I’ve booked for us to go Amsterdam!! Only a few days to go.
Sorry for the very late post on this one guys! I’ve been exhaustingly busy again, I’ll be glad to get this break!

Date Night

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve all had a good weekend! This miserable weather is making me want to be on a beach in a hot country so bad!!

I have finally got round to having a date night with my man. It’s now 3 weeks into 2017 and we’ve finally had some time to ourselves. After all my busy weeks, baking and overtime I was glad to have some quality time with him.

I dressed casual and slightly autumnal as per. I just always want to be comfy! And I’m totally in love with my scarf. How gorgeous is it?! My scarf is from M & S and is super comfy. I wore black leggings from New Look, Cream top from Primark and Ugg Australia boots.

For my makeup I’m wearing;

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation SB07 – super light on the skin and great coverage.

HD Eye & Brow Pallette in 003 Vamp

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black in A86

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in shade Lover

Kylie Lip Kit in shade Maliboo – I adore nude shades

We went to a local restaurant, Jays never been before and when we go out together it’s always for a curry. I LOVE curry! But I just fancied a change this time. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times before too and I’ve liked it so I thought I’d suggest it.

We both decided to have a starter to share which we don’t often do, which was nice. It was a garlic and mozzarella flatbread with a salad garnish. I have no idea what dressing they had on the salad but it was sweet and I like it!

For the main course I had chosen something different than I usually pick, carbonara. When the bowl came out I was shocked at how big it was! I said to Jay straight away that there was way too much pasta for me! The chicken was nice but there was no flavour at all in the pasta which was a let down. Other than that I enjoyed it and it filled me up!

Jay couldn’t decide what to have. He usually goes for a burger of we go to a pub but we were both adventurous and chose something different. He picked ribs in the end but was very disappointed as there was barely any meat!

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much bottled beer on offer which Jay likes so he had a kopperberg. At least he had beers when he got home!!

Me on the other hand, decided to have some cocktails! I had the Hollywood. I love them! And I also had double midori and lemonade, so refreshing!

Thanks for reading x

I’m feeling 22…

My birthday weekend has come and gone so fast! Another year older! 😔

Porky over here has spent the past week eating and drinking, I’m so ready for a diet now!!

I started off my birthday going out for tea with my cousin before she went back to uni.

We went to a local restaurant for some drinks and cocktails.

As a birthday treat to myself I got my nails done.

On Friday I went on a spa day, a gift off my mum. We spent the say at The Cottons Hotel and Spa, where I enjoyed a lovely relaxing full body massage. We had full use of the spa facilities; pool, sauna and Jacuzzis indoor and outdoor. Our package also included an afternoon tea.

On Saturday I spent half the day in the pub watching Manchester United in the Derby!

After unwrapping all presents first! I’ve been absolutely spoilt by my man once again!

I’ve been spoilt by my friends and family too. Really don’t know what I do to deserve this!

Today I’ve had family round for more birthday celebrations. Managed to finally open my 1.5litre prosecco!

Made myself birthday Cupcakes for everyone and then we had a small buffet in the early evening.

Safe to say I’m absolutely shattered now!

Thank you for reading guys 🙂 Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
Goodnight x
