STEPS

Saturday 18th November

I had such a lovely girly time in Liverpool on Saturday. We met up and checked out a few shops before heading for some cocktails and food.

We had a nosey at some of the Christmas markets and enjoyed a glass of prosecco.

It was very busy so we booked a table at Zizzi for a meal before the concert.

I had a meatball and pasta dish with 2 christmas cocktails: both a passontini.

We then danced our socks off to the Vengaboys and Steps. I tried to remember all the dance moves even though they started when I was 3 years old!

Such a good night!

Did any of you go and see Steps too?

Thanks for reading this short post!

Our Engagement Party

On saturday we celebrated our engagement with our family and friends.

I’ve spent every day planning and preparing for our party stressing myself out way too much!

I had my nails and makeup done before hand. It cuts out so much time to get ready when everything is done for you. I could spend about 2 hours just doing mascara!

We had a sweet table full with; jars of sweets, donuts and cupcakes. Unfortunately, I was so busy doing the rounds with people that I forgot to take pictures.

I made my engagement cake myself, through all the sweat and blood that went into it I managed to nearly get it how I wanted. (perfectionist)

We bought a personalised filter for snapchat and had a table for “pimp your drink”

We had such a good night and a bit too much prosecco! Here’s a few pictures from our night.

I Believe in Unicorns.. ğŸ¦„

Hey Everyone!

I’ve been having a magical time making my favourite cake to date. Its the number one trend of 2016/17 and I’ve finally been able to make one.

It was my sisters birthday last week, so on Saturday I had to have a cake ready for when family came round.

I spent hours baking the cakes and letting them cool before stacking and filling them with Strawberry Buttercream and some Strawberry Jam.

I used vanilla Buttercream on the outside to cover the cake and the Unicorn hair is also vanilla just coloured. I always use a gel or a paste, as the colours are much much brighter and I always reach the perfect shades. I also used my Violet paste to make the inside purple. I attempted an ombre and came out perfectly.

It took me a couple of hours to create the horn and pipe the flowers for the Unicorn mane. I used a yellow icing for the horn, which I twisted to create the shape. I use yellow because my gold glitter spray comes out a lot nicer on top of yellow than white. I added edible glitter to the horn and stuck it into the cake using long cocktail sticks/kebab skewers.

I also bought some little icing flowers from tesco which had shades of pinks, purple and blue. I didn’t use the purple as it was more maroon/burgundy which was too dark for the flowers I piped.

I had so much fun doing this cake, as I’m not the best at Buttercream coated cakes and piping. I’m really proud of my result! And even more so that my ombre purple turned out spot on.

Below, I bought my sister a few simple, low priced birthday gifts, as the cake cost me a lot.

For a fun idea, I went on the website www.boomf.com and made a pop up gift. I chose photos of us from times we’ve spent together at concerts etc. You can add your own message to these too. The box jumps out and throws confetti everywhere. They do other gifts including marshmallows. This was £5.99, slightly expensive for a paper box what throws confetti everywhere but worth the reaction (which I never even saw!!)

I bought the Unicorn Bath Bomb from www.bombcosmetics.co.uk which is called ‘I believe in unicorns’. This was £2.50.

Oscars Coolers are available in most supermarkets but I actually bought this one in Aldi. I can’t remember how much for but as a gift it’s a cheap and awesome thing to give. Who doesn’t like alcohol?

I also bought her some Krispy Kreme doughnuts from Tesco for £5 and she practically ate them in one sitting.
Thanks for reading guys! Hope you enjoyed the read.

Have a magical day!

Easter!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great, long easter weekend.

What did everyone get up to?

Easter is probably my favourite holiday with all the pretty flowers and baby animals around! The sun starts to perk up a bit and makes you feel more energised.

I’ve spent most of the holiday baking and eating. My mum and nan flew over to Germany to the rest of my family, while I stayed here with Jay.

I tried to decorate the house as much a possible but eventually it was only one or two things with being busy baking. I added some colour by buying some tulips.

You can’t not have any tulips at easter.

On Friday I spent most of the day baking and washing clothes. We had a chilled day and then went out for a curry! My favourite food. I always go for Chicken Tikka Masala because the flavours are amazing!

Saturday morning I spent the day baking again! It was a lovely morning so I decided go take a break and have some hot cross buns out in the garden.

I had run a cupcake giveaway on my Facebook page for easter and drew the winner on the Friday. The winner was my old best friend and she absolutely loved the cakes.

They were all different flavours;

Vanilla, White chocolate and Raspberry, Strawberry and vanilla, chocolate Fudge, Malteser and Carrot Cake.

I made a Carrot Cake loaf (no picture) to take to my aunties on the Sunday which was decorated with Cream Cheese Frosting and daisies.

I attempted to make a Malteser cake until I forgot to add malt flavouring to the icing! It was just a quick an easy cake to make so I gave most of it out to family and friends.

There was an awful lot of cake I made so I took a few in to work so I didn’t become a pig haha.

Easter is my fave time to make cakes because of all the bright colours.

I bought my nieces some easter chocolate from Aldi for easter and took them round to Jay’s mums for them. How cute are they?!

On the Sunday, me and Jay went to my aunties for dinner. I didn’t manage to take any pictures, sorry!

We had a homemade minestrone soup with garlic bread to start. For the main we had a turkey joint with veg and toasties. Then for the dessert we had white chocolate and passionfruit ice-cream.

A while later we watched part of the grand prix and had some Carrot Cake and then went home about half 4.

Again, on Monday I didn’t take any pictures apart from a selfie. Oops. But we went to the Legs of Man to celebrate my sister getting a new job. We ate in the restaurant, which is quiet, but a nice atmosphere.

The Legs of Man is a lovely restaurant, perfect for special occasions as it’s slightly higher in price and more ‘posh’. You order your mains and when they are served the waiters bring round the potatoes and veg. Then you choose what you want and how much.

We had a 3 course meal, so for starter I had a melon platter. There was mixed fruit around a melon fan.

Me and Jay had a Chicken Romany. Chicken stuffed with cheese and ham, covered in a mushroom and pepper sauce.

For dessert I had a tiramasu and Jay had a Chocolate Fudge cake. There is usually a trolly in the corner of the room that they have displayed with all the desserts on.

So my whole Easter weekend was spent eating like a pig haha!

After Easter was finished, I finally had a bit of chocolate.

Cheaper than egg and spoons by cadbury’s and Aldi has just as nice chocolate!

I also bought myself an egg from there that I still haven’t eaten. Its just too pretty!

Hope you all had a good easter weekend! And everyone indulged in yummy chocolate.

Thanks for reading.
